Prof. S. N. Donates 1,250 Books To University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL), Presents One Million Naira Endowment Fund

In a quest for academic advancement and excellence, at the University of Delta Agbor, an Academic Don, Prof. E.N Okoh has donated 1,250 books comprising text books, journals and autobiography to the Institution.

Presenting the books to the Vice Chancellor at the Council Chamber, Main Campus on Wednesday 23rd November, 2023, Prof. E.N Okoh stated that it has been his desire from childhood to encourage academic growth in his community and the nation at large.

The renowned Prof who retired from University of Benin in 2007 also presented a cheque of one million naira to the University. 

He said fifty thousand naira should be given yearly as an award for the best graduating student in the department of Economics.

Receiving the books and cheque, the Indefatigable Vice Chancellor of University of Delta Agbor Prof. Stella Chiemeke who was visibly filled with joy expressed gratitude to Prof. Okoh for the kind gesture.

She maintained that the books will be used judiciously especially for the on- going accreditation exercise. 

The VC noted that the donation was very timely as the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) put prominence on physical holdings as one of the criteria for accessment / accreditation of courses.

While praying for the donor and wishing him well in his future endeavors, Prof. Chiemeke enjoined other academic scholars as well as sons and daughters of the community to emulate the rare generosity displayed by Prof. Okoh.
